Barry Yates / President & Chief Executive Officer

Barry has served in executive management positions for leading technology firms for over 15 years, most recently as the Managing Director for Entrepreneurship at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Prior to UBC, Barry was President & CEO of Monexa, a subscription billing Software Company, which was acquired by NetSuite in 2015. Following the acquisition, he served as the General Manager for the Software Vertical market at NetSuite. Before Monexa, Barry was the Chief Operating Officer at Blast Radius where he led the company’s expansion to become one of the top 10 global digital marketing agencies with offices in Canada, the US and Europe. Prior to Blast Radius, Barry was the President & CEO of Antarctica Systems and the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Marketing for Delano Technology Corporation, a Marketing Automation software company that went public on NASDAQ and was acquired by divine. Before his technology career, Barry spent several years as a Management Consultant, most recently with consultancy Bain & Company out of their Toronto office.

Amielle Lake / Chief Commercial Officer

Amielle is an experienced entrepreneur, advisor and marketer. Most recently, Amielle was an Entrepreneur in Residence and Director of the Core Tech Stream for Entrepreneurship at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Prior to UBC, Amielle founded Tagga Media Inc, a customer data platform designed to help large brands better understand their customers. During Amielle’s tenure at Tagga, she held roles across the executive bench, including CEO and Founder, Chief Revenue Officer, Investor and Board member. In 2017, Campaign Monitor successfully acquired Tagga. Prior to founding Tagga, Amielle was the VP of Marketing at Western Keltic Mines Inc. and Haywood Securities Inc. Amielle holds an MBA and is a published author.

William Schonbrun / Chief Operating Officer

Bill is a serial operator with over 25 years of experience at top technology, professional service and management consulting organizations including BDO Seidman, WPP, NetSuite and Oracle. In 2012, Bill joined Monexa Services, Inc., the first SaaS, cloud-based provider of recurring billing software, as the Chief Customer Officer. When Monexa was acquired by NetSuite, Bill assumed the role of GM, Billing Products. NetSuite was acquired by Oracle in 2016 where Bill remained in a leadership capacity until early 2019, when left to co-found CarboNet. Bill was also the SVP of Operations and then EVP of Global Client Development with Blast Radius, a 400+ person strategic interactive agency with offices across North America and Europe. Bill’s career also includes senior leadership positions with BDO Seidman, LLP, Delano Technology Corporation and Antarctica Systems.

Michael Carlson / Chief Technology Officer

Michael Carlson invented the NanoNet™ technology and founded CarboNet™ during his PhD studies in biochemistry at the University of British Columbia. He has multiple academic publications and pending patent applications—both before and after his PhD work. At CarboNet, Mike is focused on transitioning the NanoNet™ technology from the lab into the field to provide operators with a safer, simpler alternative to their complex water needs.

Jack Ledford / Director of Field Operations

Jack is a twenty-year veteran in the oil and gas industry with a focus on upstream markets. He has served as the owner, COO and CEO of several oil field service companies that built pipelines, tank batteries, lease roads, well pads, compressor stations, gas processing plants, and other equipment. His companies have also provided an array of services, including water hauling, roustabout, pipeline repair, flowback hookups, rental and anchors for O&G infrastructure throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. Prior to his experience in upstream, Jack served as a Controller and Project Manager for Kellogg Brown and Root and Halliburton. He has an MBA from Rice University and served in the United States Marine Corps. He is a graduate of TopGun (Navy Fighter Weapons School) and the Naval Post Graduate School in Aviation Safety.

Lindsay Staniforth / Operations Lead

Khatera Hazin, Ph.D. / Lead Polymer Chemist

(Director of Research, effective January 2020) Khatera obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the Freie Universität Berlin in Germany. She moved to Vancouver, BC, Canada to pursue a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia followed by a postdoctoral appointment. Khatera is an experienced researcher in the field of inorganic and polymer chemistry with numerous research publications and several patent filings from her graduate and postdoctoral studies. Prior to her Ph.D., Khatera was working as Research and Development Engineer at Atotech Group in Germany.

Ken Hallat / Director

Mr. Kenneth B. Hallat is the founder of M-chem Technologies and serves as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Hallat also serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Novas Capital Corporation. In 1967 Mr. Hallat co-founded Savolite Soap Co. and developed a strategy of accumulating smaller firms in the cleaning products industry. In addition, he is Chairman of the Maxim Group of Companies as well as Ecotex Linen Systems. Mr. Hallat has been a Director of Sleeman Breweries, Sun Rype Products Ltd. as well as several other public companies and non-profit organizations such as the British Columbia Sports Hall of Fame, the Olympic Trust of Canada, St. Georges School, Young President Organization, World Presidents, Baldy Hughes Therapeutic Community, and Shaughnessy Golf Club. In addition Mr. Hallat serves on the Advisory Boards of several family-owned businesses in the technology sector, specialty wood manufacturing, and cleaning products industries in North America. Mr. Hallat graduated from the University of British Columbia with an Honours B. Comm degree in 1969 and an Honours MBA degree in 1970.

Neal Dingmann
Director

Neal Dingmann has over 12 years of equity research experience. At SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, he covers companies in the E&P and oilfield services sectors. He held similar positions at Wunderlich Securities, Dahlman Rose, RBC Capital and Bank of America Securities. Dingmann was recognized last year by the Wall Street Journal as "Best on the Street" and has been recognized as a "Home Run Hitter" by Institutional Investor magazine. He received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota and his Bachelor of Arts degree in business from the University of Arkansas.
