What You Will Be Doing

As Senior Analytical Chemist at CarboNet, you will work with the research and development team to aid in development of new NanoNet formulations for remediation of contaminated water. You will contribute through workflow development, equipment maintenance and operation, and support other members of the team to generate high-throughput treatment data.

To do this, you will …

  • Perform analytical experiments to fulfill project needs in a dynamic environment
  • Develop and implement quality control tests, procedures, and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with regulations through auditing and quality systems
  • Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Collaborate with laboratory management
  • Support product development by developing and managing QC release assays, documentation for final product release, and stability testing
  • Develop analytical assays to support NanoNet screens and prepare strategies for analysis of non-standard contaminants
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment (NMR, ICP-OES, HPLC, GPC, GC, FT-IR, UV-Vis, DLS, DSC)
  • Present data in clear, concise reports for use in internal research guidance and patent submissions
  • Interface with R&D team
  • Mentor junior scientists and trainees
  • Maintain a safe and fun lab environment
About You
  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Sciences/related field (Preferred)
  • Proven experience working as Senior Analytical Chemist
  • 5+ years of experience leading independent projects
  • Proficiency working with colorimetric assays, titration, UV-VIS spectrometry
  • Possess significant work experience particularly with HPLC, ICP-OES, and NMR
  • Aptitude to operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Experience in water treatment a distinct advantage

What You Will Be Doing

As Laboratory Manager at CarboNet, you will work with the research and development team to aid in development of new NanoNet formulations for remediation of contaminated water. You will contribute through workflow development, equipment maintenance and operation, and support other members of the team to generate high-throughput treatment data. In order to succeed as a Laboratory Manager you will need to be meticulous and independent when carrying out your duties, successfully maintain records of laboratory processes and equipment, optimizing lab procedures and generate reports for laboratory management.

To do this, you will …

  • Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the laboratory including managing supply and inventory
  • Perform analytical experiments to fulfill project needs in a dynamic environment
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment (HPLC, ICP-OES, NMR, GPC, FT-IR, UV-Vis, DLS, DSC)
  • Prepare strategies for analysis of non-standard contaminants, including equipment sourcing and calibration
  • Organize and store all chemical substances, fluids, and compressed gases and ensure that safety guidelines are adhered to at all times within the laboratory
  • Candidates will be required to prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Present data in clear, concise reports for use in internal research guidance and patent submissions
  • Interface with R&D team
  • Mentor junior scientists and trainees
  • Maintain a safe and fun lab environment
About You
  • B.Sc. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field (Preferred)
  • Proven experience working as Laboratory Manager
  • Working experience with colorimetric assays, titration, UV-VIS spectrometry, ICP-OES, HPLC, NMR, GPC, GC, GC/MS, TLC
  • 5+ years work experience in laboratory setting
  • Aptitude to operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision
  • Keen attention to detail

What You Will Be Doing

As Development Lead- Flocculants and Coagulants at CarboNet, you will work with the research and development team to develop, implement, and integrate next generation water treatment chemicals for remediation of contaminated water. You will contribute through product development, product testing, water treatment package design, and support other members of the team to continually advance the current chemistries.

To do this, you will …

  • Oversee and supervise the design of novel water treatment packages
  • Oversee development of next generation flocculant and coagulant chemistries
  • Perform analytical experiments and pilot scale water treatment processes
  • Oversee and develop junior scientists and engineers to meet project deadlines
  • Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for internal and external use
  • Collaborate with laboratory management
  • Interface with commercial and product implementation teams
  • Interface with academic liaisons (University professors)
  • Mentor junior scientists and trainees
  • Maintain a safe and fun lab environment

Experimental capabilities and knowledge set: 

  • Strong knowledge in standard jar testing protocols for design of water treatment packages (mixing velocity, scale up factors, settling rate calculation)
    • Knowledge of zeta potential and coagulation theory
    • Knowledge of flocculant chemistry and theory
    • Programming abilities, quantitative approaches to video and image processing.
    • Factorial experiment design (CCD)

About You

  • Ph.D. materials chemistry/chemical engineering/ or  related field
  • Proven experience in water treatment product development
  • +5 years of experience leading independent projects
  • Proficiency working with colorimetric assays, titration, UV-VIS spectrometry, viscometers, focused beam reflectance, and image processing software.
  • Possess significant work experience particularly with flocculants, coagulants, and jar testing
  • Aptitude to operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Experience in water treatment a distinct advantage
